Combs’ face was digitally added to the image. The original photo shows Harris with talk show host Montel Williams.
The post attempts to link Harris to Combs, who was arrested Sept. 16 in Manhattan on federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. But the image in the post isn’t authentic.
The original photo, captured in 2001 and published by Getty Images, shows Harris posing with talk show host Montel Williams and his daughter Ashley. Numerous similar photos of the trio were taken at the same event.

The talk show host said in a 2019 X post that he and the vice president briefly dated about 20 years earlier.
The cropped image of Combs’ face was taken from a photo of him attending a 2020 pre-Grammy gala, according to WireImage.
USA TODAY reached out to the user who shared the post for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
Lead Stories and AFP also debunked the claim.
